- I am a retired school librarian who is a member of the Children's Book Committee at Bank Street College of Education. Their mission is to publish an annual list of the Best Children's Book of the Year. I am also a member of the steering committtee of BOCES Learning and Literacy Institute which organizes an annual conference for educators. I am one of their presenters. I am a member of the steering committee of LISELF. I write a column for them integrating great literature with the social and emotional needs of children. I also write a column for the Arts and Education BOCES listserv integrating the arts with literacy objectives.
