Hi Nicole,
You might want to start by teaching as an adjunct at your local college or university. What is your area of expertise?

As far as working at Touro goes, a colleague of mine has worked for them for a number of years. The School of Education needed another adjunct so she gave them my number. It was actually a very simple process. No interview or demonstration. Her recommendation was all they needed. My only advice would be to send your resume in to any college that you may have an interest working in. I mailed mine in to St. Joseph's College last year and I got a call back a couple of months back asking if I was interested in interviewing for an adjunct position. I turned it down but it meant they kept my resume on file.

I completed my student teaching in Central Islip at both Mulvey and O'Neill. :) It's a small world. Do you know Theresa Madison? She was my cooperating teacher. If you do then please say hello for me. At the end of my program at Stony Brook, it would have taken me 18 months to complete all the requirements. I have enjoyed the experience and many of the professors are administrators on Long Island or in Westchester.
